Our Caterpillar Room
Our caterpillar room consists of a natural environment with access to a joint sensory/sleep room. We provide access to all our areas and activities to meet the age ranges we provide care for such as low level activities and table top activites to support our younger children learning to pull themselves up, crawl and those who can walk etc

Our main focus in this room is to provide an environment that is like a home from home. Children at this age especially need the comfort of knowing their needs are being met and if they want to, a cuddle is never far away.

Our caterpillar room has access to a changing room which is insight of the play room in a dedicated area. Childrens care routines are discussed and recorded in partnership with parents on settling in sessions with their keyworker. Our caterpillars staff take pride in supporting children in building secure attachments and relationships to give them the best start in life.
We encourage and support all children to have access to our outdoor provision in all weathers​

Alongside our continuous provision and free flow ethos we provide an array of activities for babies and children to participate in, such as music, yoga, story sacks, sensory and messy play.

We have a dedicated sensory/sleep room within the caterpillar room unit to stimulate the senses including reflective materials, Natural resources and more
We provide children with opportunities to develop using their senses such as lots and lots of sensory play using whole body such as tummy time, yoga, dancing and singing activities.
​
We aim to support children to develop their early communication skills. We provide stay and play sessions to all children within our caterpillar room to develop their language, understanding and attention skills.
​
We follow the child's lead and let them take us on their development journey whilst we support them along the way!
​
We support children at getting ready to transtition into our butterfly room when they turn 3 or show they are ready for this transistion through our dedicated parent partnership. Your child's keyworker will meet with you and keep you involved throughout this whole journey.
